South Dakota is Tougher with the 2024 Ford Ranger

Price and Trim Levels
There are still three trim levels for the 2024 Ford Ranger. The base model is the XL trim, but you can also choose an XLT or Lariat model.

Prices have gone up slightly from the 2023 Ford Ranger models, but that’s because so much more has been added to this lineup.
Exterior Styling & Colors
The new measurements for the redesigned 2024 Ford Ranger are 211" L x 79" W x 74-76" H. While the length remains the same, the width grew by 1” and the height by 3-4”. Additionally, the new Ranger includes your choice of 16” to 18” wheels. There are also nine exterior colors, including the following:
- Azure Gray Metallic
- Cactus Gray
- Velocity Blue Metallic
- Oxford White
- Shadow Black
- Iconic Silver Metallic
- Carbonized Gray Metallic
- Hot Pepper Red Metallic Tinted Clear Coat

Engine
The 2023 Ford Ranger XL comes equipped with the same engine from last year, a 2.3L turbo-four. However, the higher trims have a 2.7L twin-turbo V6 engine, which is an addition for this model year. If you want a more powerful engine, consider the new Ford Ranger Raptor lineup instead.Performance & MPG
The 2024 Ford Ranger XL should have the same EPA estimates as last year, which are 21/26 mpg rear-wheel drive or 20/24 mpg with four-wheel drive. However, we are still waiting for EPA estimates for the new engine.Horsepower
The base engine of the 2024 Ford Ranger creates 270 horsepower. The more exciting V6 engine outputs 315 horsepower.Transmission
While there are two engine options available with the 2024 Ford Ranger, both configurations include the same transmission. With the Ford 10-speed automatic, you have all the control you need whether you are driving into the city or hauling precious cargo.
Payload
The payload rating of the 2024 Ford Ranger differs depending on the choices between rear- or four-wheel drive. It can haul up to 1,805 pounds with rear-wheel drive or 1,711 pounds with four-wheel drive. All new Ranger models are configured as a four-door SuperCrew complete with a 5’ bed. The SuperCab with the 6’ bed has been discontinued.Curb Weight
The 2024 Ford Ranger’s curb weight has increased slightly over last year’s models, ranging from 4,203 to 5,325 pounds. The gross vehicle weight of the Ranger has also risen to between 6,050 and 6,790 pounds.Towing Capacity
Even with the upgrades to the 2024 Ford Ranger, it still has the same towing capacity. With either engine option, you can tow up to 7,500 pounds, based on the other options you choose.Safety Features
The 2024 Ford Ranger comes with a rearview camera, automated emergency braking and forward collision warning. You can also add advanced technologies, such as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring or rear cross traffic alert for additional security.Seating & Interior Design
With the new SuperCrew configuration, there’s room to hold five people in every 2024 Ford Ranger. It also comes with your choice of premium cloth or leather upholstery in ebony or sandstone colors.
Infotainment & Technology
The 2024 Ford Ranger offers plenty of standard technology, even with the base model. It includes a 10.1” infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Wi-Fi hot spot, four-speaker sound system, and USB port.Ratings & Reviews
