FUEL EFFICIENCY IMPROVEMENTS

Ford has continually worked on enhancing the fuel efficiency of its vehicles, incorporating technologies such as turbocharging, direct injection, and lightweight materials to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

ALTERNATIVE FUEL RESEARCH

Ford has explored various alternative fuels, including biofuels and hydrogen, as potential replacements for conventional gasoline. These efforts aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on fossil fuels.

SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING

Ford has implemented eco-friendly practices in its manufacturing processes, such as using recycled materials, reducing waste, and improving energy efficiency in production facilities.

RESPONSIBLE MATERIAL SOURCING

Established in 2021, Ford's Supplier Code of Conduct clearly outlines requirements and expectations for all Ford suppliers in areas such as human rights, the environment, responsible material sourcing, and responsible business practices.

For the first time in our history and in the U.S. auto industry, Ford developed a stand-alone Human Rights Report (a supplement to our 2021 Integrated Report) in 2022 to present the company's commitment and approach to human rights, the salient issues, and how they are managed.

ACHIEVING CARBON NEUTRALITY

Ford is proud to be one of the first U.S. automakers to align with the international community to limit global warming as part of the Paris Climate Agreement and joined RouteZero, a coalition working towards 100% zero-emission cars and vans globally by 2040, and in leading markets no later than 2035.

RESPECTING HUMAN RIGHTS

We've built partnerships with the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance, the Responsible Supply Chain Initiative, Drive Sustainability, and the Responsible Business Alliance to prioritize environmental and social responsibility across our supply chain.

SUPPORTING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Ford has been a signatory of the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals since 2016 and is supporting a pilot program that will promote responsible mineral sourcing and empower women working in the copper and cobalt supply chains in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
