At first, we hoped the 2021 Ford Bronco might make it to our showroom by the end of 2019, then we were told it was Spring 2020, but that didn't happen either. The new 2021 Ford Bronco finally debuted in Summer 2020 on July 13th. The new Ford Bronco is set to release for sale in early 2021.

2021 Ford Bronco Configurations

The 2021 Ford Bronco is a midsize SUV with room for 5 adults. As we reported months ago, the 2021 Ford Bronco will have a 2-door and 4-door model with removable tops (in sections) and removable doors. The new Bronco can be configured with several different accessories such as camping mounts, big off-road tires, and much more. Furthermore, we are hoping for an extreme off-road variant in the future. The Bronco is already a big threat to Jeep's Wrangler, but a Ford Bronco Raptor would mean the end of the Wrangler as we know it.

2021 Ford Bronco Exterior

At first, all we had to go off of was the Baja Ford Bronco R Racing Prototype, but now the world has been shown the new Bronco. We spotted big Goodyear tires during testing, which thankfully made it through to production. The new 2021 Ford Bronco has a removable roof that is just a snap, push, and lift away. There is are soft tops, hardtops, and dual tops. For total open-air experience, all doors on botht he 2-door/4-door Bronco can be removed. The doors are frame-less, lightweight, and extremely easy to remove. The 4-Door Bronco can easily store the doors on-board as well. With the Bronco, you also have a roof rack to hold key storage items such as extra fuel, bright light-bars for optimum off-road lighting at night, and a heavy-duty front bumper with a safari bar for added protection.

2021 Ford Bronco Patents

There was a long list of patents filed for the 2021 Ford Bronco by Ford Motor Company. These include a removable roll cage, unique side mirrors, and nine removable door patents. These only proved that the 2021 Bronco is going to be a vehicle to remember for ages to come.

2021 Ford Bronco Engines & Performance

The 2021 Ford Bronco shares the same platform as the Ranger truck. Under the hood, you will find the standard 2.3L EcoBoost inline-four paired to either a ten-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmission. However, you do have the option to upgrade to the more powerful 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine instead. The 2.7L V6 Bronco only comes with the ten-speed automatic transmission. The entire Bronco lineup is 4x4 standard making every Bronco configuration an off-road contender.

2021 Ford Bronco Towing Capacity

The Bronco is out to regain the crown and will compete directly with the 4Runner and Wrangler. The Wrangler tows up to 3,500 pounds, while the 4Runner tows around 5,000 pounds. Since the Bronco shares the same platform as the Ranger, we assumed at least 3,500 lbs. of towing power. We were right on the money as it's been reported that the Bronco will tow up to 3,500 lbs.

2021 Ford Bronco Changes

New Bronco vs. Old Bronco

Back in the 90s, the Bronco was quite popular, but then it ceased production and hasn’t been back in showrooms since. At that time, it came with three varying powertrain options, but it only measured 183 inches long. The newer 4-Door Bronco is be longer, sitting at 189.5 inches. The 2021 Bronco is virtually the same exact width as the only Bronco, but not quite as tall. As you can see in the image above, in comparison to the old Bronco shape on the bottom, the new Bronco shape sits a bit lower, stretches a bit longer, and looks much more modern.

2021 Ford Bronco Interior

The new Ford Bronco interior flaunts a premium, modern design with high-quality materials throughout the cabin. There is plenty of technology and amenities to be discovered. Initially, there were rumors circling around that the new Ford Bronco will get its own unique load up animation screen. It's official. The Bronco has its own unique Bronco-themed load up animation screen seen on the fancy 8-inch infotainment screen. In true Bronco fashion, fans will be delighted to see an interior lined with Bronco-esque trims, accents, and stitching.

2021 Ford Bronco Technology & Amenities

With all-new Ford SUVs, the standard features are quite lengthy. Expect to receive the same in the 2021 Ford Bronco, such as parking sensors, connectivity equipment, and a rearview camera which is now bundled into one, advanced safety suite called Ford CoPilot 360. Owners will have access to an 8-inch color LCD instrument panel, an 8-inch infotainment system, powerful 6-speaker sound equipment, plus several USB charging ports.
