New 2017 Ford Super Duty in Rapid City at McKie Ford

2017 ford Super Duty in Rapid City, South Dakota

Ford never stops the process of reinvention and while the changes are rather unnoticeable, they are big changes that continue to make Ford one of the best automotive brands in the entire world. When it comes to Ford's line of trucks, you know you are getting the best truck out on the market. Which brings us to our next delightful addition, the new 2017 Ford Super Duty.

The 2017 Ford Super Duty is unmistakably the Super Duty. The exterior is basically the same style, as previous models, but the inside is different. Aside from the LED light upgrades to the driving lights and the quad-beam headlamps. The Super Duty joined the same train as the 2017 Ford F-150 shaking a little weight off by adding the all-steel frame which is 24 times more rigid than the previous Super Duty model. Ford also chose to use military grade aluminum for the cab body, making it more resistant to those dents and dings we want to steer clear from after getting our new vehicle.

As for the trim levels, Ford let go of the regular cab, SuperCab, and CrewCab to make room for the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum options which feature a fresh set of new interior designs. Ford has moved the trailer-brake controller closer to the driver, integrated auxiliary switches into the overhead console, and flattened the floor on the second row making it easier to handle whatever cargo you choose to haul with you.

As for towing, which is the obvious reason for creating this truck, there are seven cameras attached to improve your ability to see your surroundings when backing up that big trailer. Ford has included adaptive steering to reduce wheel-input for low-speed operation and also when at higher input speeds, reduces sensitivity to steering. For the first time, Ford has also added the adaptive cruise control and automatic braking functions, in-cab tire-pressure monitoring, and lane departure warning are also added features. And what is a new Ford truck without the infamous SYNC 3 system and 8.0-inch infotainment touch screen?

The engines are basically the same but have brought back the 6.7-Liter Power Stroke V-8 turbo-diesel and the 6.2-liter gas engine which is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Ford promises that owners of the new Super Duty will be able to haul more cargo than ever before.
